Mandatory Dress Rehearsal
We will be having our first mandatory dress rehearsal on March 12 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. There is a $15.00 fee for this and must be paid before the rehearsal. All team members are required to attend this rehearsal. This is a great opportunity to perform in front of a larger audience and to show off our hard work before we take them to competition the following week on the 19th. One parent or responsible adult should be present for this rehearsal for costume, makeup and hair changes for all students 12 and under. Please be sure that your student has all of their costumes, accessories and makeup that is required for each dance. You may send snacks and water or money for them.
Thanks,

Xcite, Xcell and Xtraordinaire Hair Tutorial
I did my best on this tutorial... if you've met Izze, you know she's a wiggle worm and hard to keep still. I was only using my phone for the pictures and you have to forgive my messy bathroom, try not to judge me, I'm a busy dance teacher and a mom! :)
OK, the first steps are the same for all the teams. I start by wetting down the top of her head and parting it on left.

Next, I section off a small rectangle (maybe an inch or slightly less) in the front, if your daughter has bangs section off just a little bit more than the bangs. I make sure this is pretty wet so it'll stay in place, maybe even spritz some hairspray.

Now you twist, start at the part, twist a tiny bit, then slowly add hair as you twist across, ending on the other side. Without adding anymore hair, keep twisting a little bit to keep the twist tight.

Add a very small section of non-twisted hair and fasten to the twist using a small, clear ponytail holder. My extra section is a little bigger so you can see it better.

This next part is mostly for the Flintstone hairdo. And where it got to be too hard for Izze to hold still... Pulling up the sides and leaving most of the back down, pull into a ponytail, don't pull the pony all the way through.

I don't have a bone, so I used a bow instead. Use your bone to prop up your spikes and hairspray them into place. Straighten the hair that is down, slightly flip it out too. Hairspray EVERYTHING... and then hairspray it again... and then once more for good measure. Then I'll probably spray it too... just to be safe. Just make sure everything is smooth and going to stay in place.

For Colors of the wind and all Xtraordinaire.
Pull up sides and leave most of the back down, pull into a ponytail, slightly lower than Flintstones hair. Straighten and flip out the hair that is down.

This is how it looks from the front. Hairspray everything into place, make sure it's smooth and not going to fall out.

I sure hope this helps all of you and I hope it's easy enough to understand.
If it's not I'll try to find a video or I'll make a quick video tutorial. If you have questions please let me know!
